Who I am

Tsunetada Hirobe  

The Hirobe family served as a chief retainer of the former Kazusa Jozai Han in the Edo Period in Japan, and Tsunetada Hirobe is currently the 21st direct descent of the family.

He studies applied mathematics focusing on economics, geography, and especially regional science. He is currently a professor at the Faculty of Economics and Graduate School of Economics at Meikai University.

After graduating form Gakushuin Elementary School, the Secondary School, the High School, and the University, he went on to study abroad. His supervisor was Dr. Tatsuhiko Kawashima, the father of Princess Kiko in Akishinomiya of the Japanese imperial family. Dr. Kawashima is an outstanding regional scientist, and now is a professor emeritus at Gakushuin University. Tsunetada Hirobe is a relative of the current imperial family through his patrilineal uncle, Masaaki Hirobe, a professor emeritus at the University of Tokyo.
